"I've been working as a police officer for 20 years. That's 20 years of solving everyone's problems, coming up with an answer, and trying to make sense of what doesn't make sense. Over the years, it has gotten harder to make sense of things and come to terms with what I've seen and done. Then one day I could NOT make sense of what was going on with myself. I couldn't solve my own problem because I didn't know I had a problem. That's when I met Sean and Leslie, along with a handful of other people who graciously devoted as much time to healing me as needed.
"They" say you'll come out of this a better person than you were when you started your mental health journey. Well, "they" aren't lying. Sometimes the helpers need help, and Blue Bell Equine Assisted Therapy should be one of your first stops along your mental health journey."

Horses are social animals with defined roles. They have distinct personalities, attitudes, and moods. The can be stubborn, or playful. In other words, they're just like us.
Its hard to ignore a horse with their size and presence, and you cant just push them around. Approaching horses helps us reflect how we approach our relationships and how we can face overwhelming things in our lives, and learn to handle them.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is a unique and highly effective treatment method for a variety of mental health and behavioral issues. Using a team approach with a Licensed Professional Counselor, an equine advisor, and carefully selected equine partner, a client is able to spend time with an intuitive, non-judgmental being who is often able to help a client discover healing at their own pace.
No Prior experience with horses is necessary, and all therapy work is done from the ground, with no riding experience needed.
Qualified professionals are with the client in the arena at all times.
When inside the arena, work is done with the horses front and center, deliberately unhindered, never ridden, and allowed to interact with the client as they wish.
This creates space for the client, with the help of the professional facilitators to reflect, project, and make deep connections to what they see and feel.

"I had a wonderful time there, and used to look forward to going to Equine Assisted Therapy. I just want to express my gratitude, because i really enjoyed the horses, I can't say it enough. There's something about the horses, they have a spirit, or something that really touched me. Sean was so patient, and such a kind soul and I'm one veteran who really appreciates the outreach and effort he and the horses showed me."

I was involved in a very traumatic event during the course of my job. Sean was able to relate to what I was going through mentally, and made me feel comfortable enough to talk to him. Through Sean's Equine Assisted Therapy and the generous support of Kindle Hill Foundation, I was able to successfully return back to work with no issues. Without Sean, I would never have been able to handle my mental trauma on my own and successfully return to work. Sean helped me greatly, and I would recommend him to anyone.

"I was having trouble managing my anxiety and depression and felt burned out on traditional Therapy. A friend of mine recommended I contact Sean and try Equine Assisted Therapy. Working with Sean and connecting with the horses made a difference in my life. I'm forever grateful to Sean, Gabby, and Hunter for showing me a new way to handle my anxiety and depression."
